Biography

She has been practicing outpatient orthopedic therapy for 15 years – 11 of those years at Pacific Therapy. A proud professional from the local community, Melinda grew up in Oxnard and Ventura areas and received her bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University, and followed with a Master’s degree from Loma Linda University. She has worked with a variety of musculoskeletal disorders, including chronic spinal issues, post-operative orthopedic rehabilitation, sports injuries, motor vehicle accidents, balance / gait disorders, and vestibular rehabilitation.

Her personal interest includes the Pilates Method, and is certified in this technique. Her experience has shown that the Pilates technique works very well when adapted appropriately to her rehabilitation patients. She values the perspective that patient education related to the nature and progression of a condition, as well as an appropriate home program, is an important aspect of patient care. She feels strongly that it is vital that patients feel empowered and responsible for getting well. She finds it professionally rewarding to know she is working with members of the community and helping them through their condition to reach their maximal functional return.
